Bonkers Over Burgundy For Fall

Fall colors are abundant in all of the stores. I was recently shopping for some items on people’s Christmas Lists and noticed the beautiful shades of burgundy in all of the departments of the major stores. The rich, full color reminds me of a great glass of wine.

I came across an amazing handbag by Rebecca Minkoff at Nordstrom. The style is the “Regan Satchel” and official color is “Port.” The size of this bag is great as it is not too big and not too small. As the three little bears would say….it is just right! The zippers, long leather decorative strips, and braided handles give this bag a bit of an edge, along the lines of a Balenciaga bag, without that hefty price tag. The hardware and enlarged zipper pulls accentuate the bag even more. I love the practicality of it in that it features a long shoulder strap as well as the shorter handles for the ease of carrying, depending on the weight of the contents of your bag, or just the look you are going for. There is an outside zip pocket, interior zip pocket, and two pouches on the inside of the bag for a cell phone or card case. It can also double as a small work bag because you can easily fit an iPad or small laptop and planner. Yes, I said planner, *gasp*, I still do like to write things on paper and cross them out, but don’t worry, I use my iCalendar too.

I purchased this lovely handbag at Nordstrom and it retails for $325 and is 13″w x 9″h x6″d has a 4″ strap drop; 20″-23″ crossbody strap drop.

What a Steal for the Perfect Floral Heel

I have been wanting a pair of floral heels to get me in the mood for spring. I stalked the internet and found the perfect pair at Nordstrom by Halogen.

The heels have a beautiful multi color floral pattern, black base, and heel. They have lots of padding in the foot bed and look more expensive than they are. I love how my pair has symmetrical large white roses at the front of the toe and the height is perfect at 4 1/4″ and goes well with both jeans and skirts. I love using a print as a focal point of an outfit and this floral motif is the perfect way to do that. There are many pairs by designer brands that are stunning, but these pointy toe pumps are a steal at  $89.95. I see myself wearing these beauties to lunch with the girls or on a lovely Valentine’s Day date.

They are classy, beautiful, and comfortable and can be purchased at

The Perfect Black Pant

It has been ages since I have purchased a black dress pant. I usually live in jeans, dresses, and lululemon, but recently had to search for a nice pair of dress pants. The feat was much harder than expected, but I did find the most amazing pair.

I went to the Beverly Center in a cheerful mood and bounced into store after store. I wanted to spend the least amount possible for the cutest, updated pant. I went to Express, Banana Republic, H&M, Ann Taylor, Club Monaco and was really disappointed in the fit of every pair. I never have trouble finding jeans or pants, so I found myself in uncharted territory. My sunny outlook on shopping was fasting diminishing with every pair I tried on. The fits were baggy, not tailored, and honestly the seams in the crotch area were super uncomfortable. Like, who honestly wants the seam to go up your crotch? I was beginning to think my chic, affordable pants were unattainable. Then I went into Bloomingdale’s and found several pairs that were comfortable and so lovely. Theory had a pair that were great, but I ended up purchasing a pair by Vince. The Strapping Trouser by Vince is literally the perfect pant. It hits around the ankle so you can easily pair it with many different shoes, is slim fitting, and super comfortable as it is made in a year round wool fabric. The detailing of a monochromatic stripe down the side gives the pant a little extra style. I know the pants are more than I had wanted to spend at $265, but I justified it because I would rather have the perfect fit and quality that is made to last, rather than several inexpensive pairs that will leave me disappointed.

I am so excited to style these pants in different ways and to finally have a classic pair of dress pants. You can purchase these pants at

The Perfect Black Lace Bra

Every woman should have a pretty black lace bra. Black is such a staple in the wardrobe and now days can go under everything. It is the new neutral.

I most often wear my black lace bras under white tanks or tees, meant to be seen, but not in a vulgar way. More of in an edgy, modern rock way. This look is the new LA uniform of sorts for all my friends. A great go to casual, but cool outfit to wear out.

My favorite brands are Calvin Klein, Elle Macpherson, and Cosabella. Calvin Klein and Cosabella make beautiful, soft cup bras that are super comfortable and easy to wear with many sillouettes. Elle Macphearson makes a lovely, underwire version that is sheer with stripes through the cups.

I find myself reaching for these bras most in my drawer and have recommended them to countless friends. The price point on these are great and they are made to last. Look out for sales and snag these bras that are black lace perfection!

Concealer Confidence

When I wake up in the morning the first thing I notice is my dark circles under my eyes. It is something I have always dealt with, and yes, I do drink lots of water. Part of my severely quick makeup routine is applying concealer, and if faced with the choice, it is the number one item I must never omit. I need a little more coverage than most, but do not want the product to be cakey. I have tried oodles of brands and have listed my winners for you below.

First place: Cle de peau

Cle de peau is by far my favorite concealer on the market. I wear the color ocher. It is a perfect match for my skin and it is second to none. I call it “the eraser.” It feels super lightweight under my eyes and the coverage is exceptional. I just apply it with my fingers, but you could use a concealer brush.  I also use it on blemishes and I swear, you can’t even see them. It has saved many a date for me. There are only two downfalls in my opinion. The first being that it does tend to gather in my fine lines, but not if I remember to use an eye cream in preparation under my eyes before applying it. This is not a problem for me and I am more than happy to take the small extra step, and it is actually a bonus because I should do it anyway to fight my fine lines. Second, the price is $70 per tube, but it does last for at least 6 months and a little goes a long way. It is an amazing product and I am officially obsessed.

Second Place: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

I was introduced to this product when I was attending a birthday party and I had my makeup done at the NARS flagship store on Melrose. This concealer had just launched and wasn’t for sale until the following week, but due to my love for the product, she let me buy it early. This product comes in a handy tube with a twist off applicator. I use it just like this, although you could apply some to the back of your hand with the applicator and use a concealer brush. I take the applicator and dot it along my dark circles and blend it with my finger. It is lightweight and light reflecting, brightening the under eye area. I wear it in Custard. I like it for when I need to look more awake or am in need of a little glow. The coverage does tend to wear off by the end of my work day, so I do need to touch it up if I am going out after.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is $29 and can be purchased at

Third Place: Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer

This concealer has enough coverage to completely negate a tattoo. It successfully camouflages my dark circles and is nice and creamy for a smooth application. It is waterproof, so I feel like it really sticks and has great staying power. I wear it in color 7, Sand. It really is a full coverage product, so a small amount is all you need. If you use too much product, it starts to look really thick. I squeeze a tiny amount onto my hand and use a concealer brush to blend under my eye. It does a great job of staying on all day.

Full Cover Concealer is $32 and can be purchased at
