Vintage Levi’s and Vogue

Tonight I attended the Levi’s x Vogue event at the Levi’s Showroom in LA. Levi’s was showcasing their special limited edition Vintage 501CT jeans.

Upon arrival, there were stylists at the ready to help fit you with the perfect broken in pair of denim. These are cool kid jeans for sure and definitely got me out of my comfort zone. The pair the stylist helped me choose are worn in and a looser, boyfriend style. I don’t own any loose jeans, but my friends always look so cute in them and let me tell you, they are beyond comfortable. I envision wearing them with a white t-shirt, a fun high heel, and maybe a leather jacket or cozy sweater. They would also look amazing paired with converse for a more casual look.

A cool flower company, Bloom That, based in San Francisco presented everyone with burlap covered colorful arrangements tied with a fun bow to take home. The blooms were such a sweet touch at the end of the night. Pretty little things and edgy fashion items are always a good mix.

Metallic Jean Must Have

Paige denim released their new metallic jeans campaign and I am in need of the bright blue pair.

The flash of metallic is just the rocker touch that my basic black tanks and tees need for a night out on the town. I love the sheen of the fabric and the rips in this particular pair. Colored denim is always a good choice, but metallic colored denim is beyond.

You must pair this look with basics as to not look like you are trying too hard or dressed for a throw back costume party. The look should be relaxed and dressy all at the same time. The shiny glow radiating off your jeans as you dance the night away will only add to your appeal and fun factor.

I will be adding this glistening pair of denim into my wardrobe soon.

The Verdugo jean by Paige in Blue Galaxy retails for $249 and can be purchased at

Make Me Blush

Blush is the perfect color. It is light and romantic, yet classic and modern. The perfect shade of blush is a delicate, creamy color just dusted with a hint of pink and peach. It compliments any skin tone and can be worn for any occasion.

BCBG recently previewed some beautiful blush pieces for NYFW (New York Fashion Week). I especially gravitated toward a piece with a plunging neckline. One of my favorite go to dresses is by BCBGeneration and features a deep v lace back. I recently wore it to my best friend’s wedding rehearsal and received tons of compliments.

I love blush tones with jeans, black, or white. Jeans for day, black for night and a more edgy look, and white for everything. Monochromatic blush on blush is also lovely. However you decide to perfectly pair your blush items, make this tone your new go to color.

Blush beauty is in and is here to stay.

White On White

Even though the rule is no white after Labor Day, I love the look of white on white and will continue to wear it after this holiday. If you only try one trend, make this combination it. The result is flawless and classic.

I love pairing white jeans, shorts and skirts with white tees and blouses for casual and dressy looks. There is something so beautiful about crisp white jeans and a white blouse. So classy and understated. Head to toe white is a modern way to makeover your closet.

I used to be so scared of spilling red wine on my all white look, that I rarely ventured out of the house in my outfits. I have since gotten more brave and have thrown caution to the wind to be able to rock this dreamy creamy look. And it is worth it. Every time I step out in this look I get so many compliments and feel elegant and confident.

This monochromatic look is sure to please for every occasion, so come up with different combinations to easily interchange. Play with textures and cuts to diversify your whites. White on white can easily transition from day to night. So keep it bright and rock your white!

Distressed Denim

Isn’t interesting how we pay lots of money for jeans that are destroyed? My parents are always still mind boggled as to why I want jeans like this. Well, I do want jeans like this and love the broken in feel of destroyed denim. The key to getting the perfect pair of these jeans is the placement and amount of rips, tears and fraying.

I have several pairs all with varying amounts of destruction. My favorite brands of denim with this look are Hudson, American Eagle, J Brand, and Frame. Although I do not own any of the famous ‘Le Color Ripped’ Frame denim yet.

The Hudson Nico distressed denim have minimal distressing and are so comfortable on the account of stretch woven into the jeans. My American Eagle pairs are ripped in the best areas and get better and better with each wash, as they have become more destroyed with time. J Brand makes some great options that have rips at just the knee and around the pockets, which makes for an easy way to break into this trend. The Frame ‘Le Color Ripped’ denim are slashed from the upper thigh to the knees. These are definately more sexy and a tighter fit as well. I have had my eyes on these for a while and many of my friends own them in both black and white.
