Bonkers Over Burgundy For Fall

Fall colors are abundant in all of the stores. I was recently shopping for some items on people’s Christmas Lists and noticed the beautiful shades of burgundy in all of the departments of the major stores. The rich, full color reminds me of a great glass of wine.

I came across an amazing handbag by Rebecca Minkoff at Nordstrom. The style is the “Regan Satchel” and official color is “Port.” The size of this bag is great as it is not too big and not too small. As the three little bears would say….it is just right! The zippers, long leather decorative strips, and braided handles give this bag a bit of an edge, along the lines of a Balenciaga bag, without that hefty price tag. The hardware and enlarged zipper pulls accentuate the bag even more. I love the practicality of it in that it features a long shoulder strap as well as the shorter handles for the ease of carrying, depending on the weight of the contents of your bag, or just the look you are going for. There is an outside zip pocket, interior zip pocket, and two pouches on the inside of the bag for a cell phone or card case. It can also double as a small work bag because you can easily fit an iPad or small laptop and planner. Yes, I said planner, *gasp*, I still do like to write things on paper and cross them out, but don’t worry, I use my iCalendar too.

I purchased this lovely handbag at Nordstrom and it retails for $325 and is 13″w x 9″h x6″d has a 4″ strap drop; 20″-23″ crossbody strap drop.

Fabulous Faux Leather Handbag

Living in LA, vegan and faux leather options are all the rage. I have never found a handbag I have liked that wasn’t real leather. The reason is the faux options tend to look cheap and do not wear well, with the styles sometimes being dated and more trendy than classic. Well, listen up all you hippie dippy, kind hearted souls….there is a fabulous array of handbags that won’t break the bank and will keep your conscience clean.

I have fallen head over heels for the Large Structured Handbag from the Daily Look. This bag resembles the Celine bag that everyone owns, but is only a fraction of the price and is a fashionable non-leather option for those who simply will not wear leather. I still love the Celine bags out there and of course, would love to own one, but this is a wonderful way to get the look without wearing leather and compromising on durability, feel, and style.

I purchased the beauty in black and love the versatility of it. You can add the long strap to wear it on your shoulder and also expand the sides to accommodate an iPad or some magazines and snacks for the plane. I was so pleasantly surprised when I received this handbag in the mail and took it for a spin around my neighborhood. I already have received so many compliments and cant wait to take it out more.

You can buy this bag at for $74.99 in black, navy, or raspberry.

Craving Cleobella- Boho Bags

I love popping around to all the beach cities in California and getting fashion inspiration. More often than not I find colorful, embroidered bags catching my eye. I love the way the intricate weaves pop against an outfit and remind me of textiles I would find in India or Bali. Both on my list to visit one day.

I would wear this bag on the weekend and drape it over a shoulder or use it as a cross body bag. An easy, tossed on look for a relaxing, non-planned weekend is the appeal of this look. So in search of this bag I got in my car and drove over to Venice to peruse all the local shops. There were endless options of little coin purses, clutches and bags, but nothing that i NEEDED to have. I decided to move on to vintage shops, so I drove up to the valley.

I wandered into Urban Outfitters, which was located next to the vintage store, and low and behold, I found THE bag. It was the perfect medium size with dark brown leather braided handles with a long strap as well. The stitching was shades of pink (my favorite color) and bright blue. It was bright, fun, and perfectly modern bohemian. I sadly held off from buying it, but the moment it goes on sale, it will be mine! I need this bag in my life and I think you will agree.

The bag is by Cleobella and can be purchased at Urban Outfitters for $290

Happy handbag hunting!
