Thanksgiving is a time for reflection on the things and people you are thankful for. I am so grateful for my family and friends. This year my friends Michelle and Jonathan hosted Thanksgiving and it was so much fun.

I baked strawberry apple pie, pecan bars, and pumpkin bites cut out in fall leaf shapes, topped with cream cheese frosting. There was tons of food with all the fixings and we ate until our tummies could handle no more, and then some. I am writing about this dinner, not just because it is a holiday and relevant, but because I find that beauty can be found in so many things. There is something so beautiful about my friendships whether they are new or old. Everyone in the group is so accepting and offers something different. I loved hearing everyone’s stories and laughed so hard my sides hurt.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and get some awesome shopping deals tomorrow.

Tiffany & Co Silver Ball Earrings

I have very few items that I wear every day, or pretty darn close to every day. One of these items is a pair of Tiffany & Co silver ball earrings my friend Jenn gave me as a wedding present for standing up as her bridesmaid in her wedding.

Jenn has been a dear friend since college. We joined the same sorority and have remained friends ever since. The gift she gave me was so perfect because it exudes class, style and luxury all at once. They are the large silver ball earrings and are the perfect size to wear daily and go with literally everything. I also mix silver and gold all the time, so in my book, they match all my jewelry. I will never forget the lovely speech Jenn gave as she handed the gift to me. She told all in attendance what my friendship meant to her and what qualities I possess that she loves. It was a tender moment that brought us all to tears and when I wear them, I always think of her.

These are the perfect gift for women of all ages and come wrapped in that iconic teal box with a white bow. They are affordable and with the holidays just around the corner, I hope this post inspires you to buy them for some lucky lady in your life.

The ball earrings retail for $150 for the 8mm and $175 for the 10mm.

Olay Quench Lotion

I discovered Olay Quench body lotion several years ago and have turned so many friends onto it. It is a drug store diamond in the rough, and not just because it has shimmer.

The lotion is light in texture with a fresh scent and absorbs quickly into the skin. The ingredients include vitamin E and keep my skin feeling soft and looking radiant. I always am complimented on how soft my skin feels. I apply it after a shower to ensure optimal moisture absorption. The lotion also contains shimmer, which offers light reflecting, skin perfecting qualities. There are other formulations of Olay Quench, but I like this one the best. It is inexpensive and I purchase it and Target.

Fresh Fruit Galettes

I was watching The Barefoot Contessa the other day and was inspired to make her Fruit Galette.

The french pastry is super easy to make and I promise your home will smell amazing as they bake. You will need to purchase frozen puff pastry dough and fresh fruit of your choice. I used strawberries and Granny Smith apples. You will also need sugar, cinnamon and butter. I like to use unsalted butter for all of my baking needs. Apricot jam will be used to make a glaze. A knife, measuring cup or a regular spoon, and a cutting board are all needed.

You will need to thaw the puff pastry dough for about 30-45 mins until it is defrosted and ready to use. Then simply cut it into rectangular shapes. When I unfolded mine it naturally had lines to make three long sheets from where it was folded. I cut it along those lines and then halved those so I ended up with 6 small rectangles. Slice your fruit thinly and evenly spread onto the pastry dough in whatever pattern you like. Generously cover the top of the fruit with sugar. The sugar will sweeten the fruit and caramelize upon baking. I sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on the apples to add extra holiday flavor. Cut small bits of butter to dot on the top of the sugar. This will ensure richness and a beautiful color to the top of the pastry. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and a nice golden brown color.

Take out of the oven and let cool. While they cool you can make the glaze. Take a cup of the apricot jam and add a bit of water to thin it out and mix in a saucepan to heat through. Take a pastry brush and gloss the tops of the treats with the glaze. The thin layer will leave your pastries looking store bought and add to the depth of flavor.

Let the glaze set and serve!

Blake’s Baby Bump

Blake Lively is so beautiful and her pregnancy bump is only adding to her radiance. I adore her and loved her on Gossip Girl and Savages.

She is expecting her first child with husband, Ryan Reynolds and her pregnancy style is on point. Her style has never faltered on the red carpet and this plunging Gucci look she rocked at the Angel Ball in New York has been my favorite look so far. She manages to look effortlessly glamorous and shows off her growing baby bump all at the same time. She does it all with such grace and looks as comfortable as if she were wearing sweats.

Blake is a beautiful mom to be and I can’t wait to see what she wears next.

Monogrammed Cuffs

I love a gentleman and one of the classiest things in a man’s wardrobe is a tailored shirt with monogrammed cuffs.┬áThe initials of your name on a cuff radiate charm and confidence. It is that extra little touch that makes your outfit stand out and your personality shine. There are so many different fonts and colors to choose from. The combinations are endless. Choose a bolder color for a more fun look and primary colors for a tried a true, standard look. The best way to wear this look is under a suit jacket w the monogram stitching peeking out.

Find a great seamstress that can monogram your shirts for a reasonable price and it is that simple to bump up your wardrobe to James Bond Status. Now get yourself to a bar and order a martini, shaken not stirred of course!

Lovely Lavender

Shortly after my friend Melissa got engaged, we went to a few bridal shops so she could try on dresses. One of the stores smelled so incredible. The secret to the intoxicating scent was the slow burn of an Archipelago Lavande candle.

We wanted to purchase it, but they were sold out, so we left empty handed. I had forgotten about that candle until someone recently asked me if I could find a candle that would make their place smell amazing and preferably Lavender scented. I immediately thought of the lovely lavender candle from the bridal shop and luckily, they had them back in stock. It was as comforting and beautifully scented as I remembered. The candle is comprised of a well balanced mix of lavender and thyme and is a soy based wax, which burns cleaner than other wax.

The Archipelago candle can be purchased at for $30.

Trust me, this candle will be your new obsession and go to house warming gift. Enjoy the gentle flicker of the flame and the lingering scent for a cozy night in on the couch watching your favorite shows.
